Resolve is tested during the temptation. It is strengthened by the temptation. Resolve can never be assumed, for it can slip through your fingers before you realize what has happened. Stay small. Stay humble. Stay alert.

The ministries that are born of the Spirit of God and continue to be led by the Spirit of God are supported by the Spirit of God. But that does not exempt us from the difficulties of learning how to trust Him. It does not exempt us from the necessary growth and maturity. This growth is the process of moving from the realm where the gifts flow to the realm where Christ flows. The call of God does not mean that times will not be difficult. This is important for us to realize, or we will run to the methods of man and the carnal believer in order to fulfill God-breathed destiny. Where God guides, He provides. It’s a nice little poem, but its reality goes deeper than we can imagine. Where God guides, He provides, and since He does provide, sweat is not required. Neither is badgering would-be supporters and softhearted believers into giving far more money than they can afford to give.

When the ministry does not take the time to allow God to build according to His plan and purpose, building by the flesh is the only recourse. And all of a sudden a vision born of God and the vibrant wind of the Holy Spirit is sustained by the sweaty, fleshly arm of humanity trying to prove to those around them that God is still in the midst of the vision. In the end, we merely slow down the progress of the supernatural lifestyle He has ordained for us.

He cannot work when we are clouding the spiritual atmosphere with our fleshly attempts to help God. Additionally, we tend to take the call He gave us into another direction that He is not leading, often assuming that success in one area automatically grants favor and success in another. Such an assumption slows our progress and limits our effectiveness in what we are called to do. In the end, after we take a few painful side journeys, we finally come to our senses and find ourselves far from where we should be. Then we need to expend unnecessary time, money, and strength to get back on track as we carefully take the time to hear His voice again.

He is always talking, but as we have seen, there are many things that will distract the heart that is not singly focused. Supernatural destiny is neither automatic, nor is it guaranteed. Its fulfillment requires our obedience, our holiness, and our brokenness. Folks with these qualities will most certainly change the world.
